This picture is the result of a long process of collaboration and trust between the Fashion & Lace Museum, MODESIGN ACADEMY and Maël G. Lagadec.
The bags worn by the public watching the paintings have been designed by thestudents who followed the MODESIGN ACADEMY Certificate in Luxury Management : Anastasia Veliyulin, Anna Sofie Mohr Gammelgaard, Isabelle Malvaux,... From different backgrounds, ages, nationality, they invested time and energy to learn about luxury management and craftsmanship during 6 months, one evening a week.
They worked in collaboration with Niyona, design studio and high leather workshop based in the center of Brussels managed by Nina Bodenhorst and Jonathan Wieme, to produce them.
Many integrate a hardware object hand crafted by the worldwide famous Maison Vervloet, in their Brussels atelier. This is a unique collaboration.
To enhance this work, Brussels based artist Maël G. Lagadec, decided to shoot them in an stunning venue nearby the EU institutions: the Wiertz Museum. To pay tribute to the art of Antoine Wiertz and to fit the theme of the current exhibition of the Fashion and Lace Museum, Belgian Artist and Burlesque Showgirl, Lolly Wish, posed for Maël G. Lagadec showing her back and generous curves.
