At the mercy of Fate


Summer 2012, in the eastern region of present-day Turkey. On the dusty roads of Anatolia we pass through sumptuous endless mountain landscapes. At the edge of isolated villages, we come to meet buildings from another time .Churches, chapels that are as much evidence of what the Armenian demography was until today in present-day Turkey. Left at the mercy of the time and dreamed targets of treasure hunters, it remains difficult to imagine how these buildings looked like when they were still worthy of being frequented? Worn by the wind, porous in time, listening to the sounds that could still escape from the stones.
Cupolas on the ground, cracks, these churches are today like bodies left after the battle.
The desire to forget them has probably made the power of time act ...
